Program Note:

This single movement, multi-sectional work flips frequently between motivic, “certain” or “uncertain” episodes that play with bits of indeterminacy, and dance-like interludes. 

I began writing this piece as an exercise in styles and textures for the quartet. What seems to have resulted is more like an MRI of my brain: unveiling a gravitation toward different genres, the importance of rhythm, gestures, unpredictability, clash, and amusement in music.
